Damp Patches on Internal Walls Half Way up the Wall in 1800's Property

Hi, we have a Georgian terrace basement and ground floor flat, the basement walls on the front of the property are showing damp patches half way up the wall. I applied a tanking cement coat on the outside up to about a meter and painted over. the higher patch relates to a hole in the brickwork which I patched up with mortar ( I am yet to paint over this). there are also some patches on teh stairwell, the exterior walls are exposed brick and very old, there does appear to be a damp patch on the external wall where I think the brickwork is absorbing water. Is there an easy fix for any of this or would this require a damp professional?

We are about to have baby no 1 and and I would like to try and fix this before his arrival (2 weeks!!)

I am happy to email photos if anyone can help?

Many thanks
