Help Identifying Damp in Solid Wall on End Terrace with Basement Below

by Davec11 » Tue Nov 24, 2015 10:40 am

I've some damp that has recently appeared on a non outside facing wall on my solid wall end terrace. The wall is on the ground floor and has a basement below. Does anyone know what is causing this? I though rising damp only affected outside facing walls?

Hi Dave

There can be many different causes of damp issues and in some cases the actual cause might be something that you might not necessarily attribute it to.

We do have quite a few damp projects on the website that may help you identifying the cause (found here: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/diy-how-to-type/damp.htm)

Failing this, it might be worth a call to PRS who we produced the content along with as they have specialist knowledge in this field. They phone number can be seen on the banner at the top of most of the damp project pages

Hope this helps
