Hi there,

I have recently discovered some stains on my living room wall. The stains are a bit colder than the surrounding area, but don't feel wet. At first I thought it may be condensation, but I rarely spend time in the living room and open the windows in the apartment regularly.
My colleague has suggested a leak since the stains are in a straight line. From the outside of the house I cannot see any cracks or anything unusual. There is a small plant growing in the gutter, but again, no visible damage.

I have ordered a hygrometer in order to check the humidity, but would be grateful for any input as I would like to have this issue solved before mold develops.

stains like that, usually suggest cavity bridging, due to mortar on the wall ties, allowing moisture to bridge the cavity, and seep through to the inner leaf of blockwork
