Weird Damp Patch in First Floor Bedroom Around Area of Chimney Breast

I was hoping someone may be able to help. In a first floor bedroom, we have a damp patch which is roughly the shape of an oval outline. Its at the top of the wall and a little on the ceiling. (I have tried to upload a picture but unfortunately it didn't work). I've drawn a line around it to see if it's growing in size and it doesn't seem to be, or if it is it's very minimal, but it always seems to be more noticable when it has been raining. It's about 2m by 1m.

Our chimney breast is on the outside but it's around the area of the chimney breast. We had a roofer come to have a look and they couldn't find any leaks but sealed around the chimney some more anyway. I've had a look in the loft and can't see any obvious leaks there.

So, any ideas of what it could be and what I should do to try and sort it?! I saw bees going in and out of the chimney in the summer (definitely bees, not wasps), so could they have caused a blockage that is causing issues?

Thanks in advance!
