I have a Single Skin Wall (9") and have Damp problem. I am going to inject a DPC course from the Outside as per your Article, but my question is do I need to remove the Render to approx 500mm (The height of the Damp internally, and I am hoping I don't need to remove the plaster internally Can someone Confirm?
Thanks Mick

You do need to remove the internal plaster to a height at least 300mm above the damp. It can contain salts leftover from the water that will continue to leech out and discolour your interior wall. In addition, the damp has probably damaged the plaster making it likely to flake and to last as long as the rest of the wall. Once you have stripped of the damaged plaster you should also consider a tanking treatment or membrane - this sticks to the masonry and sets to form a waterproof barrier. You then replaster over it.
