Can I use "dot and dab" method with plasterboard that has metallised polyester foil backing

I am doing a fist time "do it yourself" damp roofing job and am very inexperienced!
I have purchased some Knauf Vapour Panel Square Edge plasterboard from Wickes.
The description of the product is "Vapourshield is laminated with a metallised polyester foil to create an effective vapour barrier."
I plan to "dot and dab" the Knauf Vapour Panel to a damp proof membrane.
I just wanted to check that the dot and dab method will work since this plasterboard is a bit more specialised than the normal stuff. e.g. can you still dot and dab to the metallised polyester foil backing?

You will have two problems when trying to dot and dab foil backed boards:

1. the vapour barrier wont allow any suction so the adhesive wont grab hold and the board will pop off.

2. Even if it did hold, the foil on these boards peels off very easily.

You will be better fixing battens to the wall and fixing the boards to them.

Thanks for the replies. Batons aren't an option because the depths I am working with but I've come to the conclusion that the silver backed plasterboard isn't really neccissary anyway. Unfortunately it's been bought and delivered though so would it be viable just to rip out the foil in the places where the adhesive is gong to go and stick it on that way? This will save me a lot of hassle in terms of disposing of the boards I've bought and getting new ones up to my top floor flat!
