Cold spot on upstairs landing?

Does anyone know if this is a cold spot upstairs as in photo . Wall is not damp but cold spot is spreading . If cold spot how would you fix ?

Hi pepsiandcoke,
Looks like a leak in a pipe could even be in the loft with water coming down inside the wall.

what sort of pipe could it be ?? Who would be able to check and fix ? Easy fix ? How would they get into wall

Hi pepsiandcoke,
If it is a pipe leaking and you have water tank(s) in your loft I would suspect the mains pipe in the first instance. Start looking for leaks in the loft.
You would need to start with a plumber to see if they can find the cause.
If the wall is a stud wall cutting a hole in it and making good should be relatively straightforward.
If the wall is a masonry wall start by using a metal detector (or a person with one) to see if pipes are buried in the wall.
