Possible Damp Issue

Hi. I recently had a rewire, and where they have chased and replastered, the area looks damp. But JUST where the new plaster is. Moisturise Meter reads 18. This is an interior wall. I'm ready to redecorate but worried that the damp needs attention 1st. This particular wall had previously been damp proofed. It's a brick wall, old Victorian town house.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Hi mrs retired,
If it’s a wholly internal wall it will be due to the depth of plaster - wait till it dries.
If it’s the internal face of an external watt the chasing may have compromised the earlier damp proofing. If you can get back to the damp proofing material that was used and overlap a new layer of damp proofing over the channelled section you may solve the problem.
