Low damp proof course

by ckelly226 » Fri Nov 16, 2007 3:24 pm

Our house was built in 1945 and the damp proof course is fairly low to the ground. In one place, however, it is less than a full brick from the ground in the garden. Is this likely to cause a problem and if so what can we do about it?

It may do over a long peroid of time. There are building regs and a BS that state that the ground levels must be a minimum of 150mm below the dpc, otherwise water may splash over the dpc when raining.

FREE ADVICE

Take a look at any one of our damp projects and ring the phone number for Property Repair Systems. They give free, no obligation advice and we recommend them. They will tell you what you need to do (if anything) and will also be able to supply you with anything you need to do it with but will certainly not try to sell you anything you don't need. However, we do sell a damp proof injection cream that is very simple to use, cheap to buy and comes BBA certified.
