Painting and damp proof course.

I am a complete DIY novice so I really hope someone out there can help me!

I have just had a damp proof course put in. I would like to know how long is it before I can paint over the new plaster? I heard I should leave it for 3 months. Is this true and if so why? What are the consequences to painting over it before the 3 months?

Thanks, Rob.

Hi this is probably correct but in reallity you should be able to paint over the walls with a permable contract paint once the plaster has turned pink.

The walls have been injected with silicone and the render would have had a waterproffer added so all of the moisture needs to pass out through the plaster , the paint you apply will need to allow this ,Vinyl paint wont.
