Damp caused by neighbours shed

My property, which I own by the way, extends out about 1.5 metres more than next door at the back. On the part of the wall that extends out further, my neighbour has a shed which is against this wall. The water has been running off the shed roof and hitting my wall and now I have sopping wet walls which has spread all down the wall. It must be being caused by the shed as it starts at the level of the shelf and definately isn't rising damp. My neighbour only rents nextdoor and I have never even seen him let alone spoke to him so am a bit worried about contatcing him.
What are my rights with regards asking him to have access to look at back of shed and what can be done so that I don't have to ask him to move the shed? Can guttering be attached to the shed to stop this?? I don't want to get into a legal battle and can see that there is nowhere in the yard to move the shed to.
