Decorating post damp treatment

I've just had my lounge treated for damp to 1.2m. I was just wondering how long I have to wait for the plaster to dry out before I decorate?

I'm planning on using lining paper and painting with emulsion paint. I have placed a dehumidifier in the room to aid the drying process.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The general rule is one month of drying put per one inch of wall thickness. If the wall had been very damp, add a bit more time. If you paper too soon, you may possibly get a mould growth between the new plaster and the paper.

Could you just use a water based emulsion (preferably a 'micro-emulsion') for the first 12 months?
