how can i revamp a worktop

by tracyg » Wed Apr 25, 2007 12:37 pm

i have just given my dark kitchin units a much nicer brighter paint job, and replaced the existing tiles. the kitchen now look really good however my work surfaces are very dark and dont really go with the new light look. is there anything i can to solve this without replacing the top, i dont want that expence as this was just a temp make over as the kitchen is to be extended in a couple of years anyway.

The only thing that can be done with a worktop to revamp it, is to ceramic tile it really Tracy. They should not be painted as the paint will cut or chip and then harbour germs. Tiling a worktop is not at all easy and finishing the edges neatly is next to impossible. It would probably be cheaper, and considerably easier, to replace the top.
