is it ok to use standard primer on mdf?

i`ve used DULUX DIFFICULT SURFACE PRIMER , but find it very thick and hard to work with.

No Rosa, It is infinatelly better to use an MDF primer on MDF as it is such a porous surface and if not prepared correctly the paint will peel off in no time. See our project on priming MDF we have some in there.
