PAINT RUNNER

by Libby » Sat Aug 02, 2008 11:37 am

Hi Guys,

Just wondered if any of you have used a paint runner for emulsioning a room. (ie. where you put the paint inside the roller). They're quite expensive to buy and seem a good idea but not sure if its just a gimic. Any feed back would be great.

Many thanks
Libby :)

paint runner

Hi Libby , I have used the paint runner and my observations are as follows .
The paint runner is a useful tool. Once you have charged the roller you have continuity of work with a smoother flow of paint and area coverage quicker ,less downtime in recharging your roller and less spillage and drips which means you have less downtime preparing the room.
However there are drawbacks . It is frustrating getting the paint to flow in the first instance ,diluting the paint helps . You may find the roller heavy when it is fully charged and worst of all it is time consuming and uses a lot of water to clean it .
i would recomend it for large areas where you have continuity of colour and keep a spare one to use for another colour .
The cost of the product like all products advertised on the shopping channels are priced for maximum return not actually related to cost pricing . The replacement costs are a lot higher than conventional decorating products and are not a day to day buy .
To sum up It is useful if it is a big one off job as its quicker but tooling up is expensive ,
Hope this info helps you . Cheers desles
