filling in holes?

by dam78 » Wed Nov 26, 2008 7:00 pm

We have recently moved into a house that had Warm Air Heating. We have taken the old vents out but are left with 3 holes about 12" x 6"
Any ides how we go about filling them in before we can get the walls replastered???

You might want to check this with a professional, but I recently blocked the old boiler hole (external wall to the outside of the house) with bricks and cement. It's really simple, the holes you have are small and just buy enough bricks (and a few for luck), a bag of all-in-one cement (ready mix stuff)...

You can crudely chop the bricks to size by hitting them on each edge...or use a hammer and bolster, they cut easily.... and you don't need to worry how neat the job is as noone will ever see it once its plastered.
