Dried sellotape on walls....help!

Hi,

I need to paint our bedroom but the previous owner stuck ribbon around the edge of the room using sellotape which has now dried and turned yellow. Does anyone know how to get it off? I'm a bit hesitant to use sticky stuff remover or eucalyptus oil as it means I then have to stain block it and will be in trouble if I miss any area I have put oil on. I've tried scraping it away but it's not budging and sanding didn't help either.

Any ideas? I'll be using an emulsion once it's done.

Cheers

"sticky stuff remover or eucalyptus oil"

really only work when its still sticky. In your case the stuff is dry. You best bet wuld be to use mechanical means to remove it by gently abrading it away although you have said that such doesn't work. Try using a window scraper (with a horizontal box cutter blade) to start with.
