painting facia boards

Is it necessary to remove the guttering when painting facia boards as it is plastic and could crack or fail to seal when replaced? If not how do I paint without getting it on the guttering?

No but its a good idea. Unless the guttering is very old and britle I wouldn't worry. If its in that bad nick anyway it probably needs replacing so you now have a good excuse to do so.

Carefully. And you'll only be able to do the bits that show anyway.
