Painting bare internal wood

I have just had new skirting boards fitted in my living room and I have mistakenly painted them with undercoat (for gloss paint) instead of first applying primer paint. What should I do ? - carry on and paint over the undercoat with gloss or start all over again and strip the skirting board back to the bare wood and this time apply the primer before the undercoat ?

Thanks in advance for any help / advice on this matter.

Bit late to reply but yes you should have primed first. You may get away with it but the finish won't be as good as if you had primed. Personally I'd get it all off and start again but it really is up to you.

Cheers
