Advice, please with a decorating issue!
We have removed some old wallpaper and are left with a good quality smooth plaster finish with a previous coat of old emulsion. It is quite dry, with no damp problems.
This old paint is good in some places and flaking off in others revealing the plaster beneath.
We want to paint the lot with a silk emulsion finish. But before that we have to consolidate the old paint to prevent the flaking problem affecting the new paint coat.
Is there a recommended pre-coating that we can use to stop the old stuff flaking off?
Many thanks in advance to all.
