Decorating

I wish to overcoat house exterior doors(Wooden) & garage door(Metal) with glossy pastel green shade. All doors are currently coloured Bright Red.
What is(are) the best colour(s) of undercoat(s) to obliterate the red gloss finish ? Would I need 2 coats of undercoat ? Does the red need to be thoroughly obliterated prior to top pastel green colour being applied ?

Any assistance would be greatfully received.

Hi, yes you will probably need 2 coats of undercoat to make sure of covering the red. If you leave any of the red it is possble that it will show through the finish colour. The undercoat needed will be the one that the finish colour says to use, it should be on the can. You have to use the right one to get the right finish. Good luck. Shed.
