Hello there,
this is my first post so i hope i do it right!
My question is how to paint over some stajns that keep coming through the paint.
there ws a leek in the roof and water came through , if i am to put a fresh coat of emulsion on how do I stop the stain comi9ng througfh?

also we have some old beams that have been painted over but whatever they were treated with shows through as a brown stain. what can I do to seal the beams and paint over . we'd like to use emulsion on the beams as it will be same as ceiling.
looking forward to hearing how to do it
many thanks

See the project on the website called blocking water stains. Its dead easy to remedy. The beams can be treated with a dark oil based undercoat which should stop the stains coming through if you want to paint them.
