Have had the back wall of the house re-rendered (hacked off the old render and had two coats of render applied with waterproofer added) so now need to paint it. Have bought Sandtex ultra smooth which says apply two coats. Do i need to seal the new render with a stabilising solution first?

denboy09,
"Do i need to seal the new render with a stabilising solution first?" Not unless the surface of the new render is dusty.

I would say thin the 1st coat is a must on any bare surface. then 2 caots on top.

Hi denboy, I would agree with JRS on this one and thin the first coat down a bit. If you put the first coat on straight on from the tin it will probably dry too quickly and so wont adhere properly to the walls, the same as internal ones. It will also make it a lot easier to paint them.
