Do I need to size wall?

I'm papering an old wall with lining paper. The wall was stripped of paper and distemper and old paste removed with sugar soap. I have filled and sanded till it is ready to be papered. My question is should this wall be sealed/sized prior to papering or can I paper directly onto it? I will be emulsioning the paper after it has dried.
thanks

it's entirely up to you - all sizing does is make it easier for you to hang the paper by allowing the paper to glide over the wall. without sizing the glue on the paper will suck straight into the wall and bond almost instantly.
unless you've a lot of experience in hanging paper i'd definitely size.
