plaster repair

by ollytheowl » Thu Jun 02, 2011 1:22 pm

Hello

Many years ago I had a wall replastered and the job was terrible. As I was working at the time I just painted over the lumpy and dips in the wall. I now have time and have sanded the wall. The problem is that I have obviously sanded of the plaster and the initial coat of paint in a number of areas.

I am now unable to fill the small areas (as they are only as thick as two coats of paint) where I have rubbed back to the plaster and the new paint does not cover the damaged areas.

Any ideas on how to make good?

Use fine surface polyfilla, if the area is quite big then just fill the edges in with it (use an old credit card to put it on with) then use fine sanding paper the next day to smooth off :)
