Matt paint for bathroom

Hello,

We're about to paint our bathroom and were going to use Farrow & Ball estate emulsion but have been told it's not suitable for bathrooms/kitchens due to condensation.

Would rather not use F&B modern emulsion as we've been told it's very shiny.

Can anyone offer any advice? Is it worth taking the risk with the estate emulsion and just repainting every year or so? If not, is there another brand of paint that looks matt?

Thanks!

Hi Quinlad, there is nothing stopping you from painting it with ordinary matt finish, but it won't have the properties of proper bathroom paint and it will be more prone to mould. With bathroom paint it is easy to wipe down as it has a bit of sheen to it while using matt will make this harder to do. You can always try it and see how it goes and if you do start to get mould treat it straight away with something like Dettox mould and mildew remover. I always use the Dulux bathroom paint. It does have bit of a shine but not too much.
