Mirrored Wardrobe Dilema

Hi everyone,
I have a horrible mirrored wardrobe and i want to paint it - will normal emulsion do the trick ?
Has anyone else ever done a mirrored wardrobe makeover ? any ideas welcome. I'd like to ditch it but have a tight budget.
