Woodworm in Skirting Board After Moving old Wardrobes

I have dismantled my 40 yr old fitted wardrobes and found a bit of damp and mould in the corner of the room by the window. This has dried out now and am planning to put an air vent there and have free standing wardrobes. However when I removed a piuece of skirting board I noticed tiny little holes in the wood. I had Rentokil out today who told me that this is woodworm and although the hoiles are just in one piece of skirting board and not visible on the floorboards he advised they treat the whole of the upstairs area including the stairs just in case the woodworm spreads. He quoted £1.180 for this. What do I do. Go ahead or just treat the affected area, or do I get a DIY man to paint some sort of solution on the floorboards near the affected area. Please help. I don't have a clue what to do. Thank you.
