Patchy Paintwork Near cut in After Rolling on

Hi everyone!
A painting newbie here. Been painting white emulsion onto yellow. Done about 3 coats without a primer and thought I'd finally got it nailed, but I've noticed some patches where I've rolled into the cut in. It's only in some areas though and the majority is a pretty decent finish. Just wondering why this might be. Is it literally just where I've rolled and not loaded the roller enough? Or not used enough paint when cutting in in certain areas? To highlight, I've literally cut in sections, then rolled to keep a wet edge, and then carried on as such. Any pointers anyone?
Thanks a bunch :)
