Protect Exterior Wood While too Wet to Paint

by MarshalOldgit » Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:27 pm

I've sanded down some exterior wood on my porch - back to the bare wood - but now the forecast is rain every day for ever. I know I can't paint it wet but I'm concerned that it's going to get damaged by the wet while I wait for some dry weather.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could put on it to give it some protection in the mean time?

Tape polythene around the bare timber and keep checking the forecast, first dry day remove polythene, if any signs of moisture dry out with hot air gun or hair dryer and when completely dry paint some quality primer on bare timber
