Recently had a guy strip my wallpaper with the intention of painting. However the walls were a bit of a state so we agreed that lining paper be hung then painted with the grey paint required. That was done.

Now, a few weeks later, I see, on one wall, there is a pink colour where strips of wallpaper butt together. What has caused this?

Grateful for some guidance.

Is there any chance that the wall colour under the lining paper were painted pink and if they were then obviously the lining paper has shrunk and you are seeing through the butted up edges.
If they have shrunk best way to remedy it is to fill up over the paper joins and then sand down, touch up the filler with emulsion and once dry recoat the whole wall again with your wall colour.
