How do you Make Your own Paint?

Hi all this is my first post here and would really like some suggestions if anyone is able to.. so I run a small business making wood products, currently the paints that are most popular are garden colour paints but the problems I am having is obviously the prices but the quality and thickness of the paints are absolutely shocking they are like water no matter how much they are stirred ect. So I am looking into making my own paint maybe not from scratch but I would if it's possible. Has anyone done this with a positive result? Any input would be appreciated
