How to remove hardened masking tape from copper pipe

by Redwhopper69 » Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:02 am

I have copper central heating pipes which were masked with green Frog Tape which has hardened from the central heating. Can anyone suggest a method of removal which won’t damage the copper which the owner requires to be non-painted

Hi redwhopper69
Oh .... have you tried cellulose thinners? If that doesn’t work you are into paint stripper eg nitromors

Thank you for responding. Nitromors or any other spirit may be fine for removing the adhesive itself, but initially I need to find an efficient way to remove the tape, which is proving extremely stubborn.
