Painting Acrylic or Glass kitchen splashback

Moving to a new house shortly and the red splashbacks in the kitchen just have to go! I'm not sure of the material of splashbacks but saw an online article about Dulux Renovation range, where splashbacks were painted. However, this was Australian and I'm having difficulty finding what paint available in the UK would be good to use. Does anyone have experience of doing this job, what products I can use and was it successful. Thank you.
