Hi all,
I've been painting all my dark stained skirting boards white, room by room.
Up until now I've cleaned the skirting, applied knotting solution, then without sanding, applied two coats of Zinsser BIN, then 2 coats of Dulux Quick Dry Satinwood Paint (water based).
The finish was decent with this paint, but I thought it might be better to try an oil based paint with the next room, so I went with Leyland Trade Satin Brilliant White Trim Paint. Unfortunately this seems to be scraping off very easily when I run the hoover up against the side!
My question is, why has this happened and what should I do to correct it? Do I need to scrape / sand the flaky paint off and then reapply BIN and go over it with the Dulux paint?
Thanks for any help / advice you can give.
