I just painted white matt paint straight on to old yellowed gloss paint on the skirting boards. It gave a crisp white finish I liked. Then I put a coat of gloss paint on top and the matt paint immediately started peeling off. I know this was a rookie error, especially as I didn't prime the surface properly. What is the best way to repair this?

Hi swharton,
Sand and then try a water based primer/undercoat on a small area, then apply a water based top coat and see if it all adheres.
