Fibreglass tape stuck to floor.

Hello,
Having recently painted the front room I was a bit shocked to find out that my other half had used fibreglass tape (the type used to join plasterboards together) instead of masking tape when doing the skirtings.
Basically to cut a long story short we have wooden floors which are stained so I want to remove the tape from the boards without damaging them, I'm currently having to peel the stuff off which is taking hours and leaving the floor sticky.
I've tried scrubbing the tape with soapy water but this didn't work, anyone got any ideas of an easy way to remove it ??
Cheers,
