Cold feed problem to sower pump

Hi (my first post). I am currently converting my loft, which includes a new bathroom (with shower). I intend to use a negative head pump, the hot feed to the pump is no problem from the top of the hot water cylinder via a surrey flange, but the cold water storage tank is miles away an inacccessable from the airing cupboard, where the pump will be sited. Someone (heating engineer) suggested tapping into the cold feed to the hot water cylinder. The worry is if I do this, when both sides of the pump are running, won't it drain the hot water cylinder too quick, or won't the pump have a fight with the hot water cylinder over who gets the cold water first!?! All other outlets are mains fed, so no other choice to pick up a cold feed. Any ideas please? Martin H
