push button cistern

have a top mounted push button cistern the problem I have his removing the top to gain access to the inside of the cistern, is the sleeve around the water controls just a push in hope I have explained my dilemma OK

Likely to be screw-in I think.
Right hand thread so anti clockwise to undo.

thanks for reply bd3cc, unfortunately didnot resolve the problem could it be a push in type bit reluctant to put to much force in case I do some damage it is an ideal standard may checkout their website, once again thanks for your reply

If the cistern lid won't lift up, likely is the lid is screwed down.
Push down and hold one of the flush buttons. You will see a slight recess in the side of the other button that is now exposed. Insert a screwdriver tip and gently lever the button up. Repeat for the first button. You should now see a white plastic screw that when undone allows the cover to be removed.

Thanks for your suggestion plumbob, my apologises for not replying sooner, unfortunatly it has not solved my problem no sign as far as I can see of any screws in the push button

The point is the screw is hidden underneath the push buttons. The buttons have to be gently levered out to gain access.
