Shower fills up when sink is run !

Hi,

I am having the following problem:

When I take a shower the bottom try starts to fill up to over my feet. Then
it takes ages to drain away.

I have tried putting drain un -blocker down the hole and leaving over night
but this does not help. I have also tried using a plunger repeatedly.
It does manage to get the water out, but when I take another shower
the tray fills up again. Also I got my garden hose up through the
bathroom window and stuck it down the shower drain hole and blasted a
good amount of water down it for about 5 minutes, but once again soon
as I take another shower I get the same problem.

Also, I have noticed that if I turn on the sink the water starts to come
back up the shower drain and starts filling the tray up!

Once I turn the sink tap off there is a lot of gurgling noises from the sink
and the water in the shower gradually starts to drain away.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and how I can get it sorted?

Regards,

Mark

HI
well i think that something is stuck inside there, which blocks the way. you should do contact with a expert or professionals to get rid of this problem ASAP. Just check it out.
my friend was also faced the same problem and he consulted with a expert.

Good Luck!

There are a couple of common causes of blocked pipes. If the installer has left a burr on the pipe. it catches hair and gunge which eventually causes a blockage. Also, the pipe may be sagging in one spot allowing deposits to build up and block it.

I don't like to see bleach and other strong liquids used as they can actually damage the surface of the pipe, soften it, which increases the possibility of it blocking in the future.

You could try a wet and dry vacuum to suck the crud out. Don't use pressure as it may separate the joints. You would have to block the sink waste and overflow too.

Thanks for your replies.

I may just get a plumber out to see if they can
sort out the problem, as I need some other work
carrier out too.
