Hi

Just had a acrylic bath installed and there is a dent/ small crack in it (plumber accuses the tiler and vice versa)- Are there any products on the marcket to fix this or peopl in the ******* (Chelmsford area) that can do repairs?

Many thanks

sdfuk,
Search online for companies specialising in this sort of repair in your area.
If a repair is feasible expect a bill of around £100.

Many types of damage can be repaired. How successfully depends on what type and how bad the damage is. Cracks are the most difficult as the integrity is compromised. Chips in the acrylic are easier to mend.

I have repaired many baths over the years with many being invisible. The most difficult is colour matching the repair to the original.

Hi

Thanks, I've got a quote for £150. I have seen DIY products out there for around £40 but the wife want a "proper job" done - more money than sense!!

Cheers

And the best bit is he'll only use one of those £40 kits to repair it. The kit is basically only P38 car body repair filler but in a white version, sand paper and white acrylic spray paint!

He has probably only quoted £150 so you'll be put off and not have it done.

had the same issue with my (former) plumber (he said he wasn't responsible and blamed the tiler, too while it was definitely his fault) and ended up hiring another plumber here: http://www.myhammer.co.uk/db/Plumbers,-Heating/-/uk/ who just scratched his head and fixed the mess in no time for much less. So I'll just keep looking around for prices and quality the next time something happens and not just simply rely on someone for old time's sake...

Many types of damage can be repaired. The most difficult is colour matching the repair to the original..but still there are amny paints that will look same as the original before damage...so try to go to good plumber..he will tell you the best for you..

it is a difficult situation when no one will admit to it but i agree with your wife i would pay for a proper job to be done, after all not something that gets replaced evey month is it.
