Possessed shower pump

Hi,

Our shower pump has developed a fault. You set the temperature to where you want it and after a minute or two it starts running cold. You can only rest it by turning the water off an on again but this is no guarantee that it won't occur again. Any thoughts? Is it in fact the fault of the pump?

Thanks

hufri01,
If you have a conventional system with a cold water tank in the loft I would suggest you see if the vent pipe is in the water surface.

Thanks for the response. Are you saying the pipe should or should not be under the surface of the water? I'm guessing not.

No it should not, but I'm not sure either way why that would effect the temperature of the shower unless it is plumbed up wrong.

Knowing what type/make of shower you have and how it is plumbed would be very helpful as other wise its really only guesswork.

hufri01,
Pipe should be well clear of the water surface.
