Shower pump keeps cutting out

Hi,
We have recently had a Salamander CT50 pump fitted. When the shower is turned on it works OK for around 30 seconds and then cuts out. If the temperature is adjusted it will come back on for 10 seconds or so but cut out again. The pipework is the correct size and according to the specification the water tank is of the correct minimum capacity. Salamander's technical helpline have informed our plumber that with the minimum capacity tank the shower will work for 20 seconds only. Surely this cant be correct? They have advised that we should have a larger tank fitted, but before going to all that extra cost is there anything else that we can try? If the specification says our water tank should work then surely the shower should work for as long as we want it on?
Can anyone help?!!
Thanks

So what size is the tank? Are we talking pop bottle size if it empties in 20 secs????

Don't take the tech helpline as gospel. The problem is they cannot see the installation so tend to come up with some weird ideas about problems. I've come across this annoying occurrence before!

Run the pump while examining the tank. Does it run dry and allow any of the outlets to pull air or are they submerged. That should discount that argument.

I've seen this fault before and it turned out to be blocked filters but of course this may not be the case in your instance.
