What connector to fit 3/4in outside tap?

I have several 3/4in outside taps (they have a 3/4in moulded legend on the side of the tap) on my smallholding. I've already tried the two-part Hozelock connectors labelled as fitting 3/4in, but I find they must mean something else because they do not fit on my taps.
I'm coming to the conclusion that the Hozelock 3/4in means it fits a 3/4in output on a 1/2in tap.
I've seen advertised a part titled "Hozelock 2042 Pro Metal Thrd Tap Connector 1In " - how sure can I be that the part will suit my 3/4in brass taps before buying?

A new outdoor tap from B & Q/Wickes will cost you around £15. It will be of a "standard uk size" and they'll have any fittings you may require, in house, that are compatible with it.
If you can't find a fitting in B & Q/Wickes to fit your current tap, then you must have something unusual, so make life easy and forget searching for the unknown.

Are you sure your tap is 3/4"..?
I have had this problem twice this year. Customers are saying their 3/4" or 1/2" fitting does'nt fit the new tap they have had fitted.
When I have gone to check (armed with a 3/4 and a 1/2 fitting), neither have fitted.
That's because it was a 5/8" fitting... !
I could'nt buy one anywhere but once I googled ..'5/8 hose adapter fitting'... they were readily available mail order.
Hope this might help ... it's just a possibility.

I said it is a 3/4in tap because the 3/4 legend is embossed in the side of the tap - what other size could it be? I wanted a 3/4in tap to get a better flow of water on my smallholding near to where my pigs and horses troughs are.
B&Q definitely don't stock everything because it's not the first time I've needed something and not found it in B&Q and need to get them from a plumbing supplies shop, but this issue has them stumped.
