Hi all,

I'm about to install a new bathroom suite of which most I'm comfortable fitting myself however I want to reposition the toilet(its an upstairs bathroom by the way). The soil pipe is cast iron and goes under the floorboards and links up to the main stack which is internal and when I say internal I mean in the centre of the house running up alongside the chimney. Can I cut the cast iron soil back to a horizontal section underthe floorboards and connect pvc pipe to enable me to run that to the new toilet position and if I can what parts, tools would you advise to use.

you will need an angle grinder to cut the pipe, Cut the pipe so you can connect the fitting vertically so it wont leak, use a toilet pan connector and insert it into the cast iron then use your new pvc on that.The diameter of the cast iron is larger than the pvc so a normal collar wont work.
