External Soil Stack not Needed any More, What to with Basin and Shower Waste? Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

I have moved my toilet upstairs to another location.

The external soil stack is now basically useless. I still want to be able to connect my 40mm basin and shower waste. Can i run these down straight to IC on ground floor or do i still need the external soil pipe.

I want to get rid of this bulky pipe as only basin and shower waste are being connected.

No. You must keep the stack if it is the only one for the property. Removing it may cause problems with the flow of water through the pipes. It may result in airlocks which block flow and odours which may escape inside the house.

The soil stack is not just for carrying waste away it is a release for the foulair that collects in the system. This is why the stackgoes right upto the roof and is called a soli AND vent pipe. You cannot get rid of it without approvalfrom the Building Control department of your localcouncil otherwise you are changing the drainage layout of your property which is covered by regs. Thank you. But i now have 2 soil stacks. My original stands. Do i need it for washbasin and shower waste if these are the only ones going in it.
