Delayed Start From Bath/Shower Mixer Tap With Showermate Pump

Hi, we have a main bathroom and ensuite back to back where the showers and hot water to the sink are pump driven by the same Showermate pump.
This installation has been in place for 5 ish years with no issue but recently there is a delay of anything between 2-20 seconds when switching on the bath/shower mixer in the main bathroom before the pump kicks in. If the shower in the ensuite is already running, or the main bathroom is switched off/back on it seems to start quicker.
The ensuite shower starts immediately as does the hot water to sink in main bathroom, which to me rules out the pump??, but suggests something with the mixer valve itself.
Its a Grohtherm 2000 series. Could this cause the problem, and is there anything which is a DIY fix to put it right.
Grateful for your thoughts/comments
