Just fitted these and got taps are fine but cold make a racket, been told could be due to high pressure. Will I have to revert back to normal valves?

Check that the taps are the right ones, meant for high or low pressure. If the hot water is tank fed, they might not be suitable for high pressure, and why you're getting the noise on the cold mains.
