Unable to get old Toilet Seat Fittings Removed as There is Nowhere to Screw Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Hi,

We've been living in our current house for 8 years nearly and a while ago, some of toilet seats came loose and broke off.

We've been able t find some replacement seats that have a similar size, but we are unable to get removing the old toilet seat fittings.

It seems to be a top fix toilet seat system as there is nothing underneath the toilet other than the stand thing that holds up the toilet.

But we cannot remove the fittings as there are areas for us to unscrew.

For a while, we've just made do by using the other toilet in our house, but it would be great to actually be able to put on new toilet seats to the ones without any.

I have attached a picture, I can only apologise for the state of the fittings. its not a pleasant image and its even less pleasant in person. We have tried to clean around them but they are just waring away and need removing pronto.

Any help would be much appreicated.

Can I ask how I would go about popping off the silver discs?

They seem to be on there pretty tight when I tried to see if they come loose when I push them.

They are very attached still and not sure how to adjust them?
