Would like to ask for advice on the best approach to replace an existing drain pipe connection to the main drain
We are looking to move the washing machine to upstairs bathroom.
Currently a 32mm drain ABS pipe from a sink is connected to the drain with solventweld couplers as shown in the photo

For the washing machine we'll need at least 40mm pipe - i read somewhere 50mm is needed but all the wastetraps for these appliances are 40mm for some reason.
Plan is to run a separate 40mm pipe to the main drain into the same opening where currently the 32mm pipe is connected.
Is there a recommended way to cut this out and replace for a wider coupler. It is solvent weld so my fear is that i have to replace the entire soil pipe branch.

Many thanks!
